The municipality of Mondariz Balneario is the smallest in Spain with an area of less than 2 kmý, and exists thanks to its thermal springs. The man who first discovered the Mondariz waters was the local doctor Dr. Domingo Blanco Lage, who observed how the local people healed their dermalogical injuries using these waters. Then he started to recommend the waters within his medical profession for therapeutic ends. For the sixth year in a row, this water have achieved the maximum score (3 gold stars) at the Superior Taste Award, a prize given by the International Taste & Quality Institute (iTQi) of Brussels. As in previous editions, our natural mineral waters, both sparkling and still, earned the classification of ?exceptional?, which is only achieved with a score of over 90 points out of a possible 100.
